FLAT ROOF GUIDE PRICE:

Prices vary for each job as additional materials may be used hence a guide price advertised.
Remember, cheapest is not always the best. It’s always important to have more than one quote and compare your quotes to ensure that your contractors are pricing to undertake the same level of work, materials and guarantees along with building regulations certificates.

Add £38 per square meter to insulate your flat roof with 120mm Celotex and 18mm OSB3 boards (3m x 7m = 21m2 x £38 = £798)

FIBREGLASS Roof with 20 Year Materials Warranty:

Flat roofs have long been a cause of concern in the UK, as it is UV rays that damage most flat roofs (rain just shows the symptoms of the damage caused by the sun) one might wonder how, in hot countries, there are so many successful flat roofs. We believe the main reason for flat roof failure in the UK is the fact that we experience many more temperature changes.

Midwest Roofing have tried many different flat roofing solutions, some more successful than others. Built-up felt systems rely on heat being applied to the roof either by using hot (melted) bitumen or torch-on felt. GRP requires no torch/heat.

The Solutions

New 18mm OSB3 boards are laid on the existing roof joists. Once the entire roof area is decked our skilled team will fix all the pre-formed trim detail to the new roof, each joint is carefully laminated with resin and a 450g mat bandage to provide additional structural strength at all joints and roof details. Upon completion of the deck and trim details, the roof is laminated with a resin and a 600g mat glass fibre mat, not a 450g mat that many other companies will use. The roof is finally sealed with a further coating of topcoat. The topcoat can be pigmented in several standard colours, although we recommend the standard light grey colour to diminish thermal gain. The topcoat will also stop any UV transmission into the body of the GRP layer. @ £65m2: 3×7 Garage /Kitchen roof from: £1,365 (Additional trims may be needed).

GRP Roofs expected lifetime of up to 20 years, yet remains easy to remove and recycle at the end of its useful life. In addition, the thin design results in the minimal use of raw materials in manufacture and energy for transportation. It is UV resistant. Fibreglass roofs can be ideal for awkward situations or where a walking surface is required.
